A new perspective on Australia

I've always loved the high country, which was part of my childhood backyard. My family's story in this country is also deeply connected with the story of Australia's Snowy Mountains. Because of all this, I used Kosciuszko to take a sideways look at Australia's sense of self. We are a mostly suburban nation, but we look to the mountains for some of our richest stories. This is the history of a special place, told through a misadventure, which is also the setting for the emergence of a nation's identity.
